It’s Trevor Lawrence’s world, we’re just living in it. The 2021 NFL Draft kicks off with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Urban Meyer and Lawrence will look to build an eventual winner in Jacksonville. The 2021 NFL Draft is the first step towards putting the Jags back on the map. We finish the war room series with Jacksonville!

Round 1: No. 1, No. 25 (from Rams)
Round 2: No. 33, No. 45 (from Vikings)
Round 3: No. 65
Round 4: No. 106, No. 130 (from Rams)
Round 5: No. 145, No. 170 (from Browns)
Round 7: No. 249 (from Titans)

Trevor Lawrence. The cards already been turned in. Okay, moving on.

I wonder if the Jags take a tackle at 25? Cam Robinson was hit with the franchise tag. Could they go back to the Alabama well with Alex Leatherwood? Leatherwood can play either side and was a big time recruit. If Robinson leaves the following year, Leatherwood gives them protection and Jawaan Taylor goes back in as a starter.

The Jaguars should probably go corner at some point too. Greg Newsome at Northwestern could be staring them in the face. Someone Urban knows well coaching in the Big 10. Shaq Griffin and CJ Henderson is a nice start. You bring in someone like Newsome on top of it? That’s a sustainable unit you can keep around for a long time.

Call me crazy but I could see the Jags doubling down in the secondary. Trevon Moehrig at TCU could plug right in as a starter. Andrew Wingard and Rudy Ford are the incumbent starters at safety. Expect this spot to be addressed at some point.

Call me pessimistic, you can’t go into the season with just James Robinson. Carlos Hyde is cute but c’mon. Ryquell Armstead who knows. The guy didn’t play all year after being hit with the rona. Kenneth Gainwell at Memphis could be the pick. He’s a great compliment to Robinson too as a smaller back. Gainwell is a terrific receiving back too. A great security target for Lawrence in year one.
